What do you do when someone mistreats you or when you’re having a hard time?
We all have problems and hardships. In the Bible, those difficult situations we go through are called “trials.”
Even if you’re having a hard time, the apostle James says you should feel happy or content.
Do you know why? Because it’s an opportunity to draw closer to Jesus and learn to be stronger the following time you have a problem.
So even if it seems hard, you should trust Jesus more and ask Him to give you wisdom to face any situation.
We learn many important lessons when we overcome those trials. If you think about it, you learn more when things go badly than when things go well.
Have you ever gotten lost? I’m sure that by the time they finally found you, you had learned that you would never leave your parents’ side again.
Have you ever cheated on a test in school? If the teacher took the test away from you and gave you a low grade, I’m sure you thought twice before cheating again.
Sometimes something bad has to happen to us so we can learn a lesson and be wiser in life. Trials help us trust Jesus more and not repeat the same mistakes.
In your Prayer Journal, write down any trials you’ve faced and how Jesus helped you overcome them. And if you still haven’t overcome a trial, ask Him for wisdom to do so.
