On June 8, 1918, something happened that surprised people living in the United States.
That day the sun became dark. Can you imagined? Kids and adults woke up to go to school or work, but there was no sun, no light, just a great darkness, as if it was light time.
Do you know why? Because something called a ”total solar eclipse” took place.
An eclipse happens when the moon comes between the earth and the sun in such a way that it doesn’t allow sunlight to reach the earth.
That’s why the sky is dark.
The last total solar eclipse in the United States took place on August 21, 2017, almost a hundred years later.
The moon came between the earth and the sun for an hour and a half!
Did you know the Bible had already predicted there would be eclipses?
Jesus told His disciples that before he returned to earth there would be certain signs that would indicate His soon coming.
He told them, ”There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars.»
And many of those signs have already taken place!
All those signs tell us that Jesus will soon come again.
Yes, Jesus will come very soon to take us to be with Him forever.
Are you ready for that great event?
Draw an eclipse in yourPrayer journal and write down today‘s verse.
