“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves,
and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin
and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open
and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place“
(2 Chronicles 7:14, 15).
Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them». (Matthew 18:19, 20).
The Adventist church has many secondary schools with boarding facilities. We have them all over the world, and their purpose is to offer a well-rounded Christian education and to model a Christian lifestyle to be followed wherever the students may go and work as adults.
In these schools, music plays an important part during these teen years, years when friends become family, and daily worship services are a shared experience. Monica and Daniel Biaggi are a married couple who have dedicated their lives to teaching music to students at our boarding schools, and they have been an inspiration for hundreds of students. One of the songs that they have written in Spanish is called “En Oración” In Prayer. It is a beautiful expression of God’s desire to pour out His blessings on us when we come to Him in humble prayer.
One year, before we went on our annual tours, we celebrated a spiritual retreat with the different musical groups from our Adventist University in Argentina. Each group would be going out to different places to share the gospel through their music, and we wanted to consecrate ourselves before going. The Biaggi’s song was our theme song for the retreat; we sang it together there, and again each day of our tours, followed by sessions of prayer. When we all returned, we had many stories and testimonies to share. We saw how God heard and responded to us, and how He healed many wounded hearts.
Would you like to find a friend to pray with? Or perhaps you could even organize a special prayer session at your local church for a group of young people,or for any one who wants to participate.
