DO you eat everything you’re served? Or do you leave some food on the plate?’
When we don’t eat everything and there’s still a little tell, we say there’s: «more than enough food” or that there are “leftovers.
“Those leftovers are a “remnant“ of all the food there was before we started eating.
So a remnant is what is left over; the rest, the excess, which is normally a small amount.
The same thing happens with people: when your teacher or parents ask for help, only a few, a remnant, are willing to help, right?
In Bible stories we notice that even though the children of Israel were many people, only a few of them obeyed God. That was the remnant.
Throughout this world’s history, God has always had—and still has—a remnant through which to spread the good news that Jesus loves us and is our Savior. There are always “a few» who are faithful to Him no matter what.
The Bible says that when Jesus comes again there will only be a remnant that will obey God’s commandments and be faithful.
Do you want to be part of that remnant or small remainder? Try to obey Him every day in spite of what others may do or say.
Write down your decision to obey Jesus in yourPrayer Journal.
