“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God” (Romans 8:26, 27).
Have you ever felt that you had to pray, that you had to cling to God, but the words did not come out? Perhaps you had too much pain or confusion or maybe just did not know where to begin or what to say. This is what Craig Courtney’s song, «My Wordless Prayer, » is about.
Today’s verses give us a lot of information that we need, and they are also a promise from that Comforter we rarely rely on. The Holy Spirit makes Himself very present and joins God in a close and united way to act according to His will. What an incredible gift!
Schools for translators in different countries stipulate high prices for interpreters’ jobs in order to make sure that the various messages and decisions reach their recipients as cleanly as possible in the language they understand. We also have the best Interpreter at no cost who is available at every moment of the day.
What a wonderful Intercessor! One who not only understands what we say and knows the language of the Father, but also adapts the message to work for us. No one can pay that. Or rather, Jesus already paid it!
Although we learn to pray by praying, there are many things we can keep in mind to make our prayer lives much more profitable and powerful for ourselves and for those around us. I recommend that, in addition to praying more, you give time to reading about prayer and putting the inspired advice into practice in order to be more in tune with the Trinity.
«When a man breathes an intensely earnest prayer to God (Jesus Christ is the only name given under heaven whereby we can be saved), there is in that intensity and earnestness a pledge from God that He is about to answer that prayer exceeding abundantly, above all that we can ask or think. We must not only pray in the name of Jesus, but by the inspiration and kindling of the Holy Spirit. . . . The petitions must be offered in earnest faith. Then they will reach the mercy-seat. Unwearyingly persist in prayer» (Prayer, ch. 8, p. 72).
