They might be very obedient, but are you always obedient?
Obeying means doing what your parents, family, or teachers ask you to do. Being obedient is a very good thing, as long as what we are asked to do is something that Jesus approves of.
For example, if an adult asked you to steal something, would you be obedient? Of course not!
We must always obey God before people, even if they are adults. And Jesus doesn’t like it when anyone steals or does something that’s not right.
The Bible says that there was a man who ALWAYS obeyed God.
Do you know what his name was? You can look it up in today’s verse.
In Genesis 6:9, it says that in all the earth he was the only one who was living according to the will of God.
Can you imagine living surrounded by bad people and being the only one who is obedient to God?
However, it was not difficult for him because he walked every day with Jesus, his Best Friend.
Therefore, when Jesus told him to build a big ship, he didn’t ask questions, but he immediately obeyed and spent tens of years building the ark. Noah also did not doubt that a deluge of water was going to fall that would cover the earth.
Yet having never seen a flood or rain, Noah obeyed because he trusted Jesus and knew that what he said was true.
Would you always like to obey Jesus like Noah did? Write to Him in your
Prayer Journal and ask Him to help you trust Him always.
