Lying is the opposite of telling the truth. Whenever we lie, we side with Satan, who is the great deceiver; and go against Jesus, who is the Truth.
Satan was the first to lie, which is why he’s called “the father of lies.«
Do you remember what his first deception was? Disguised as a serpent, he tricked Eve into disobeying God and eating from the only tree of which the Lord had said they could not eat.
Is it wrong to lied? of course it is. Disobedience to God always brings bad consequences. When you lie once, you must keep lying again and again. A lie always brings more lies, shame, and a lot of suffering in the end.
Why should you not lie? Well, that’s the advice that God has given us so we can be happier. The eighth commandment of the law of God says,
«Don’t tell lies.”
When we lie, we are doing the same thing that the father of lies does and not only do we harm those around us, but we also harm ourselves.
In the end, you always know what the truth is, and no one trusts liars.
The entire universe knows that Satan is a liar who only wants to deceive us and separate us from the love of God.
Furthermore, Jesus defeated the father of lies when He came to die for us and demonstrated the love of God.
Remember that telling the truth is always best—you will feel at peace and you will be happier.
