«Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these God will bring you into judgment» (Ecclesiastes 11:9).
I AM SURE YOU HAVE HEARD the saying «what goes around comes around.» It means that whoever does wrong, according to the law of cause and effect, will end up paying the consequences of their bad choices. However, this time I invite you to look at the other side of this popular saying, which is, «whoever does good will end up receiving the blessings of having done so. »
Today I want to share this thought, especially with young women. You should know that the choices you make today will determine the rewards you will get in the future, and I am addressing specifically to you, because you are at a stage of life where crucial issues are decided, that at the long range will affect the way you will live the future stages.
Good decisions today, good rewards in the future. It’s that simple, it’s that easy. In the Bible we read: «If a tree falls to the south or the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it shall lie» (Ecclesiastes 11:3). This divine statement is very clear to be ignored. The Lord wants to see you grow like a leafy tree, with an abundant harvest of good fruits. He doesn’t want to see you knocked down to the ground by the «winds» that bring ideas, philosophies, and life-styles that are contrary to Gods plans for you.
I can assure you, by the authority of the years that I have lived, that if you decide today to side with God and His Word, you will have a full life, perhaps with failures but never with defeats. Don’t dismiss His advice, especially when someone whispers in your ear that Gods Word is obsolete in a society that’s considered «enlightened» and needless of it. God says, «Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ» (Colossians 2:8). In other words, don’t let anyone fool you.
In order to make correct decisions, God gave us three virtues: intelligence, freedom, and will. Take advantage of them and you will be more than victorious. You will be crowned with glory before God and before men.
Youth is a stage of fullness. Use the physical strength, the time to carry out projects, and the intellectual capacity that God has given you to fulfill His call for you.
