Underline the correct answer:
a. Obeying God
b. Loving your neighbor
c. Disobeying God
Do you know why you cry, feel pain, and get ill?
It’s because of sin.
God created Adam and Eve perfect and without evil. They never felt pain, nor did they get sick.
Our Creator created us to be happy, So how did sin and evil start in a world that was perfect?
The origin of sin is a mystery that we can’t understand.
But the Bible tells us that evil or sin originated in a heavenly being, a perfect angel.
Do you remember his name? Yes, Lucifer wanted to be like God and rebelled against Him.
Therefore, sin is rebellion against God.
That is, it consists in rejecting God and His law, in disobeying Him and thinking that He’s neither good nor fair.
Sin always produces bad consequences. When we disobey God and His
commandments, we don’t have a clear conscience. We stop being happy and having peace, and we separate ourselves from God.
That makes us feel sad and miserable.
Since Adam and Eve disobeyed God by paying attention to Satan, all human beings have a tendency towards evil.
This means that it’s easier for us to behave badly than to behave well.
What can we do then? Do you want to resist Satan, and overcome evil and sin?
The Bible says that if you love God and obey Him, Satan will flee.
When Jesus was here on earth, He did not disobey His heavenly Father and overcame Satan and all his temptations.
In the same way that Jesus overcame, you too can obtain victory when Satan tempts you to do something that you know is wrong.
If you pray and ask Him, Jesus will help you overcome, like He overcame sin.
Write your prayer in the Prayer Journal.
