Underline the correct answer
a. To put a block in someone’s path
b. To set a bad example for others
c. To hurt someone
What would you think if someone placed an obstacle in front of a blind person for them to trip on? That would be wrong, wouldn’t it?
The Bible says that if you’re a Christian and do something wrong like tie, steal, or any other sin, you can be a stumbling block.
What does it mean to be a “stumbling block?» It means to set a bad example of what it means to“ be a Christian «to people who are watching you.
If you take your new classmate’s pencil one day without asking him for permission, and then you invite him to go to your church, do you think he’ll want to go with you?
Of course not, because nobody likes to be friends with someone who doesn’t ask for things politely, but just takes them without asking.
That’s like stealing, rights Jesus likes it when we behave like His true followers and set a good example, which shows that we know Him.
If we’re polite and don’t lie, steal, or mistreat others, everyone will want to be our friend and get to know Jesus.
Remember that there could always be someone watching what you do and say, so don’t be a stumbling block for them.
Instead, be a good son or daughter of God, showing love toward others like Jesus did.
Write a prayer in your Prayer Journal asking Jesus to help you be more like Him so you won’t be a Stumbling block to those around you.
