Underline the correct answer
a. He bailed water out of the boat
b. He gave an order to the wind and the waves
c. He gave an Order to His disciples
Do you like jumping over waves in the sea? Have you ever done that?
Nothing is more fun than jumping over waves, but you know that not all waves are fun.
There are some waves that are up to 100 feet high and they can be very dangerous.
Waves reaching the shore may have been formed very far away in the sea. They’re produced by wind force on the water‘s surface. The stronger the wind, the taller the waves.
One day Jesus was with His Mends, the disciples, in a boat on the Sea of Galilee.
They wanted to cross to the other side of the lake so Jesus could rest for a while from all the people who followed Him.
A short time later Jesus fell asleep, because he was very tired from walking, preaching, teaching, and healing the sick.
Suddenly, a big storm broke out on the lake and the waves were so tall that they covered the boat.
The disciples were very scared and went to wake » Jesus up. They probably thought they needed Him to help them bail out all the water from the boat.
Jesus woke up and asked them, “Why were you so afraid* Don’t you trust Me?”
And do you know what He did?
He didn’t start helping them bail water out like they expected Him to, but He did something that left them in awe.
The Bible says that He got up and ordered the wind and the sea to calm down, and everything became totally calm.
Can you imagined Jesus calmed the storm! (You can read the story in Luke 8.)
If you ever feel fearful, remember that He has the power to rescue you from any dangerous situation. So trust in Jesus!
Draw a picture of a boat in your Prayer Journal and write your prayer for today inside of it.
