Underline the correct answer
b. More than four
Did you know Jesus had several siblings?
The Bible mentions the names of four of Jesus’s brothers. They were called James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon.
We don’t know the names of His sisters because the Bible doesn’t mention them, but He also had sisters! You can read about them in today’s verse.
Jesus‘s brothers didn’t always understand or defend Him.
Jesus was so obedient and responsible that his brothers got mad at Him, but He went on doing and saying what God had told Him to.
Many times, Jesus had to endure being misunderstood even by His own family.
Sometimes His own family didn’t understand why Jesus didn’t obey the rules and regulations of the rabbis or teachers of the law.
However, Jesus knew the Scriptures well and always obeyed His heavenly Father rather than rules made up by people.
That’s why He even said, “Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!” (Matthew 12:50).
That means you can be Jesus’s brother or sister. That’s why people in church call each other brother or sister, even if they aren’t really related.
When we obey our heavenly Father, we’re all part of the family of God.
All of us are family! We’re all brothers and sisters in Jesus!
In your Prayer journal, tell Jesus how grateful you are for being able to belon8 to the family of God.
