MARINA D. BUZALI in one of her books, “It is no enough for a Christian woman to love God; she must be fuse together with Him.“
” When I ponder on this expression, I think that it’s such a close relationship that it’s impossible to find a point of separation. Immediately today’s verse comes to mind: «I and My Father are one» (John 10:30). That’s exactly what she is referring to.
As women, we know what it means to have a close relationship with someone, to be one, because our nature, to a certain extent, demands it. Likewise, we should develop this in our intimacy with God. To be one with God, to fuse with Him, to make our will conform with His, not to conceive life apart from Him or make our decisions independently of the gospel principles.
When we are fused with God, we can cry, laugh, talk, argue and even disagree with Him, because He’s our Father, Friend, Teacher, Guide, Counselor, Lawyer, Brother, Boss and much more. When we achieve this fusion, we receive immeasurable spiritual benefits that translate into physical health, emotional well-being and healthy interpersonal relationships.
Fusing with Him each day makes us more tolerant of other people’s ways and thoughts; it makes us patient in situations that would have otherwise overwhelmed us completely; it changes our sensibility, making tis aware of what’s right and what’s wrong, with a higher criterion than the one we have acquired in a cold, indifferent world. It’s only when we’re one with God that we can love people who are hard to love and overcome failures without sinking, being able to perceive what we can learn from them. Fusing with Him elevates and transforms us.
Having a close friendship with Jesus means enjoying time spent alone with Him in prayer and reading His Word; it’s creating a space where we can pour out” our soul with the assurance that we will I be understood and comforted. By being fused with Christ, we receive help to overcome temptation and defeat sin. When we sin, we are also granted forgiveness and grace, which free us from guilt, anxiety and fear.
Being one with the Father is an absolutely radical change in life.
