How long is your tongue? Can you touch your nose with it?
You can probably touch your lips, teeth, throat, gums …
The tongue is made up of many muscles; that is why you can move it around in all directions.
In addition, it is the only muscle that can be inside and outside of your body.
God designed the tongue to help you mix food and place it between your teeth to chew it.
The tongue also pushes food so that you can swallow it, and it helps you to speak and to taste the different flavors of food: salty, sweet, bitter, sour and savory.
Did you know that your tongue almost never rests? It even works while you sleep in order to swallow saliva.
There are people who think that when someone faints or becomes unconscious, they may end up swallowing their tongue, but I have to tell you that that is impossible.
God put a membrane under the tongue called the “frenulum,” which holds it. Can you touch your frenulum? Look at it in a mirror and thank God for designing you so perfectly.
Now I ask you two questions for you to think: Do you use your tongue to say good or bad words?
Do you use your tongue to praise God, or do you simply not show it with words or song?
The Bible talks about how we use our tongue, and one thing it says is that It is the organ with which we praise God and talk about Jesus to our friends.
In your Prayer Journal, write a prayer of praise to Jesus for taking care of you and protecting you every day, even in the smallest details.
