A STUDY carried out in a European country demonstrated that an important percentage of young people between sixteen and twenty nine don’t do any productive type of activity, that’s is, they don’t study or work; in other words, these young people live in idleness and many of them do so at the expense of their parents or are devoted to illicit activities. The most unfortunate thing is that this age range constitutes the time of life when there are more opportunities for development and growth as creditors of a prosperous future.
I have heard some young people Jokingly say that work is so unpleasant that we have to get paid to do it. It’s common to blame the social system that surrounds us because of the lack of opportunities to be developed, but in many cases, it’s only an excuse with the intention of justifying the lack of motivation, impact, and decision to create one’s own opportunities and defy the circumstances. ironically, it is hoped to obtain a lot with a little effort.
God has given us the work as a source of blessing. At the same time that it prepares us for life, this activity helps us to develop skills and temper the character. With your hand at the forge and your mind set on goals, it becomes what you want it to be.
Barely nineteen years old, Luisa spent several hours taking care of a disabled person so she could earn some money to finish her nursing career. Long shifts in the hospital, more hours of work taking care of her private patient were getting her exhausted and many times at the point of giving.
However, today she is a successful professional.
Dear young lady, dreams come true when you are awake, not sunk in reverie. Work with persistence, effort, endurance and most of all, with God by your side.
Working responsibly gives us the right to enjoy times of rest and relaxation so we can recover energy and enjoy the fruit of our labors. The fundamental elements for being a successful worker are the following: Rest to get rid of built-up fatigue; meditate to support spur trust in God; recreate to be able to enjoy the pleasures God offers you, and cultivate interpersonal relations to find companionship p and shared experiences.
