“I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead” (Philippians 3:13).
SOME RUNNERS make sure that their arrival at the finish line takes place before the race; it is during the time of hard training that the athlete crystallizes his or her thoughts and gives from to the victory. The mental mechanisms activate the effort, increase the energy, helt to overcome obstacles, and give a push to reach the goal.
God said to Joshua: “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you” (Joshua 1:5). These words not only reinforced Joshua’s trust in God¡ but also motivated him to develop a plan to attain the conquest. The Bible confirms it: “Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, ‘Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, ’Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess’ ” (Joshua 1:10, 11). Joshua’s instructions showed trust in God, as well as a renewed trust in himself and his physical, emotional, and spiritual resources.
If you are young, you are barely at the starting point in your life’s race. It is the moment to visualize yourself triumphant for the honor of God. Crystalize your thoughts and picture yourself reaching the goal. Become a woman who shows those who are coming behind that their goals are reached only with persistence and God’s help. Take advantage of the time according to the rhythm with which you move from day to day. Improve your skills, work on your weaknesses, and develop your potentialities.
Pray and ask God to help you establish your priorities.
The Wise Man said, “To everything there is a season. a time for every purpose under heaven” (Ecclesiastes. 3:1). Take advantage of the “here” and the “now;” enjoy your youth with wisdom; don’t do anything that stops your path to your proposed goal. When you are tempted to run to live experiences that are apparently emotional, stop and don’t turn right or left from the path you have outlined with your personal decision and with God’s help.
You are a princess, a daughter of the King of kings. You are destined to live in a palace; don’t allow anyone or anything to keep you from arriving there.
