Go to the bathroom, wash your face, and take a look in the mirror. What do you see? What does your hair look like? Would you be able to count how many hairs you have on your head?
Some people say that hair «frames our face,» because when we wash and comb our hair, we look much nicer.
Every hair has a root in the scalp and is made of a fiber called «keratin.»
Did you know that one hundred hairs can resist more than twenty pounds of weight? They are really strong!
Your hair grows approximately one third of an inch per month and will be renewed about twenty to twenty-five times in a lifetime. About fifty hairs can fall per day, and up to one hundred per day in autumn.
Have you ever counted them? It seems impossible, because every day some of them fall off and new ones appear. Scientists have calculated that you can have between one hundred thousand and two hundred thousand hairs on your head.
The Creator made everything so you would be happy and created each hair on your head to protect you from the sun and the cold, and from blows, scrapes, and insect bites.
Jesus said that our heavenly Father has numbered our hairs one by one. That means He knows you very well and cares for you each day, hour, minute, and second.
Every morning, when you wake up, comb your hair, smile, and don’t worry about counting your hairs—your heavenly Father takes care of that.
Take a hair from your head, make a shape with it, and glue it on your Prayer Journal. Then write your prayer for today inside of it.
