What would you do if God gave you a message to share with other people? What would you use: the internet, TV, radio. . .?
Ellen was born on November 26, 1827. One day, while she was going home from school with her sister Elizabeth , she was hit in the face with a rock and had to stop attending school. But Ellen gave her heart to Jesus and was baptized when she was fourteen years old. When she was a little older God gave Ellen that she had to communicate to everyone.
People didn’t always listen to Ellen and many doubted the messages came from God. But along with her sister and a young man by the name of James white, she went on traveling and sharing what she saw in her visions with those who wanted to hear her. Ellen married James and they had four children. Since Ellen and James couldn’t travel everywhere in the world, they decided to write and make many books so the world would get to know the messages God showed Ellen, because in her days there was no internet, radio, TV. . .and of course no cell phones.
And what did Ellen write about? She wrote about the bible and its teachings, but what her books talk about the most is the life of Jesus, how God is, and how much He loves us and wants to save us. Some of her best-known books are Step to Christ, The great Controversy and The desire of all ages.
Ellen wrote fifty thousand pages in books and articles as well as thousands of letters. She did all that without using a computer; she wrote every word, every page, using a pen or a pencil. Ellen and James White, together with an old see captain named Joseph Bates founded the Seventh day Adventist church. Do you think Ellen fulfilled the mission God gave her?
