«Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies» (Proverbs 31 :10).
TODAY, MANY WOMEN seek their identity in the models that the world offers, but many of these models undermine completely for us, which is clearly defined in Proverbs 31. As protagonists the social, family, economic, and cultural work of our environment, we find everyday opportunities and challenges that we must learn to place in harmony and accordance with the holy Scriptures.
God, who is the Giver of all good things, given us the skills and to face the demands of the moment. So, what will we do with these abilities? The woman who identifies with Christ will find a way to use them as Jesus worked. Jesus’s earthly ministry was filled with acts of and mercy. His heart was tender when he met those suffering. He loved children, He respected women, and He was righteous and holy before men. As His daughters, we must be bearers of those same virtues.
God has called us to comfort those who suffer, to ease the pain of the sick, and to feed the hungry. To make this possible, as Christian woman, we must come to the rescue of our «femininity.» We were created with the ability to nurture, to give proper intimacy, and to offer tenderness, understanding, and sensitivity. Let us put all these virtues to good use, as part of our identity as Christian women.
I am convinced that femininity isn’t a cultural concept, as many might claim. I truly believe that feminine qualities were bestowed by out Creator. Our feminine characteristics were given to us by our Creator, in order to fulfill His special plans for us.
Be grateful that you are a woman. Modern life demands changes and you must accept them, but without giving up your nature. From your essence, and according to God’s will, take the best from the modern life to be better in all areas of your development—spiritual, physical, and emotionally. But live in such a way that other women who look up to you might feel inspired to become better persons, and so men also might have a positive concept of women, thanks, in a way, to you.
