Do you know who invented soap?
Historians say that the first to use soap were the Babylonians, around 2800 years before Jesus was born.
Do you know how they made soap? They boiled the fat from animals and mixed it with alkaline plant ash and water. This mixture is called «saponification.»
Why does this mixture clean? That’s because the molecules that compose it have two opposite characteristics. The first is hydrophilic, that is, it attracts water; while the other is lipophilic, which attracts fat. Thus, im mersing a dirty garment in soapy water makes the fat separate from the fabric, and the fat or dirt disappears. Nowadays, softeners and perfumes are added to soap . but in reality, soap originally had no aroma.
There are people who make their own soap by using oils, distilled water, and caustic soda. But a chemical reaction occurs that can be dangerous, so it can only be done by adults who are protecting themselves with gloves and glasses very carefully.
After going on a hike, jumping rope, or playing a soccer game, there is nothing better than a good bath with soap and putting on clean clothes. You smell so good and so do your clean clothes!
When you dirty your heart with a bad word to a friend or a disobedient attitude … do you think you need a good soap to feel clean and well?
Jesus is the soap capable of cleaning all that dirt.
