Would you like to know where Noah’s ark is located?
Do you know where Noah’s ark landed after the Flood?
When it stopped raining, the water receded day after day, until the ark came to rest on top of some mountains that the Bible calls Ararat.
Do you know what Ararat means? In Hebrew it means “holy land.” Mount Ararat is in Turkey, in a mountainous area shared with Armenia and very close to Iran (which is also known as Persia). It measures close to seventeen thousand feet. Within that mountain range there is a higher mountain peak, on which it is said that the ark came to rest after the Flood. In fact, the Turks call this mountain “Mount of the Ark,” and the Persians call it “Noah’s Mountain.”
It is likely that Noah and his family remained in the ark for a while, until they could descend that mountain. They probably looked for a place to farm and raise animals.
Little by little, Noah’s family grew, and they spread around the Ararat region.
You are probably wondering what happened to the ark. Many people have tried to find it, but they have not succeeded. Possibly, since it was made of wood and many years have passed, it gradually deteriorated due to snow, wind, rain, earthquakes, and even a volcano eruption which might have burned it down.
Search for the mountains of Ararat on the Internet with the help of an adult and draw them in your Prayer journal.
