To“baptize” means to “sink,” to “submerge.” When people are baptized, they must be submerged in water so they can symbolically die to their previous life; and when they come out of the water, it symbolizes that they have been resurrected into a new life, to walk with Jesusevery day.
Who gave the command to baptize people? Jesus told His disciples to teach others everything He had taught them and to baptize them “in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” (you can read about it in Matthew 28:18-20).
What do you need to do to be baptized? You need to get to know jesus through the Bible, talk to Him in prayer, ask Him for forgiveness, and obey Him once again.
Who can be baptized? The Bible says that everyone who believes in Jesus as their personal Savior can be baptized. Baptism is how we say in public (that is, in front of other people) that we believe Jesus died for us and resurrected to give us eternal life. When we get baptized we show the world that we love Jesus as our Savior and want to be like Him every day.
If you want to give your life to Jesus, you have to accept Jesus as your Savior and know what the Bible teaches.
Baptism is a covenant we make with God: He promises to save us and we promise to obey Him.
