Lora Robey wasn’t born yet when the story she wrote about took place. But she certainly knows how it ends. Listen:
When my older brother was just a baby, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The doctors told my parents in a solemn voice that he’d not live past the age of sixteen.
My folks were devastated. «Is there anything we can do to save his life?» my mom cried. The doctor told them that there was nothing medically or humanly possible. He said, «Take him home, make him as comfortable as possible, and just love him. Make the most out of every minute.»
After a few weeks had passed, Mom and Dad took my brother back to the doctor. He did a MRI scan on him. Thinking that some-thing must be wrong with the equipment, he checked the results repeatedly. In shock he went out to the waiting room «The tumor is gone,» he said, shaking his head. Then he added, «But you must keep a close eye on him. It might come back even worse.»
Mom and Dad took my brother home and thanked Jesus for the good report. My brother is now eighteen years old and in very good health. He has never had any problems since. We thank God every day that he’s fine and lucky to be alive.

Sometimes doctors deliver happy news. Other times they don’t. But whatever the report, God is there ready to comfort our hearts and strengthen our resolve to live forever with Him in heaven.
