«Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom» (Luke 1 2:32).
Once more, Jesus encourages His followers not to be afraid. This time, He turns of heaven His gaze in many toward of the His Kingdom parables to of name God. Jesus the work used of the divine expression grace «the in the kingdom human heart. But in other passages, He refers to a real and precise place that will be the permanent home of the redeemed. The patriarchs and prophets believed in the existence of such a place. Abraham, having lived as a foreigner, hoped to dwell in the city built by God (Heb. 11:8-10). «These all died in faith, embraced not having them received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them» (vv. 13, 16).
A few hours before His crucifixion, the Saviour reminded His disciples this true reality by saying, «Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you» (John 14: 1, 2).
The Bible gives the promise that «the righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell in it forever» Ps. 37:29 . Through the prophet Isaiah, the Lord declares, «My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places» (Isa. 32: 18); «Violence shall no longer be heard in your land, neither wasting nor destruction within your borders» (Isa. 60:18). Would you like to know more? You can read the description of the eternal mansions in Revelation 21 and 22.
We should not think of the Kingdom of God as an undetermined and confusing place where intangible spirits are wandering back and forth. Instead, it should be understood as a real place where «the redeemed will engage in the occupations and pleasures that brought happiness to Adam and Eve in the beginning.» (Last Days Events, ch. 20, p. 286). A place where «they shall build houses and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit» (Isa. 65:21). Unthinkable are «the things which God has prepared for those who love Him» (1 Cor. 2:9).
Today, we invite you, once more, to raise your eyes beyond the problems. Remember that on the new earth «peace will last forever» (Isa. 9:7, CEV) «and God Himself will be with them and be their God» (Rev. 21:3).
