I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand» (Isaiah 41:10).
BLANCA ROSA WAS a warrior of God from the very moment that she arrived in this world. When she was just a baby, she practically lost sight in one of her eyes. As a child, she faced illness again, polio this time. As a consequence, there was wear in her hip that prevented her from walking well from that time on. Marriage brought a harsh trial for her: her husband turned out to be an alcoholic. From the economic point of view, Blanca Rosa never had a peso left over: she spent everything in helping her three children get ahead in life. The adversities seemed unending in this’s woman path, but she never stopped trusting in God, her powerful Partner in the battle.
Blanca Rosa was an untiring worker and her hands were always active. In addition to her several remunerated jobs, she was a deaconess in her church, as well as a teacher in the children’s division and responsible for keeping the church clean. Until one day an intense headache made her lose consciousness and she collapsed on the floor. In the hospital, they were not able to make a diagnosis and sent her home despite her terrible headache. The next day, her daughter asked them to do more tests, which yielded a terrifying result: she had had two ruptured aneurysms. The doctors could hardly believe she was alive.
They had to operate immediately, but the probability that she would survive was minimal. She signed the consent form and was anointed by the pastor of the church before going into the operating room, where she contracted bacterial meningitis. The inflammation and the brain infection were such that she had a heart attack. Blanca Rosa was the pillar to which her family clung, and there she was, apparently fallen in battle. However, two things sustained the fragile thread from which her life was hanging: the fervent prayers of her relatives, friends, and church members who interceded for her; and her strong conviction of the truths of Isaiah 41:10: «Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.»
Those truths apply to you, also, dear friend.
«Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.
