You’re about to meet a hero who is short, can’t run very well, and hasn’t spent a day in school. And he’s only five. Parts of Australia are great for raising cows. To make more cows, you gotta have bulls, and that’s exactly what Justin’s father had purchased. «He’s a mean one,» the man warned his family. «Stay away.»
Justin took one look at the huge animal and decided that was very good advice. A few days later the boy was watching the cows come in for milking when he saw the new bull lower his head and start toward something near the barn. That something was his little sister Emily! Dad was too far away to help. If Emily was to be saved, he’d have to do it himself.
The boy raced to his sister’s side and tried to lift her. He wasn’t strong enough. The bull, now in a full gallop, thundered closer and closer.
Justin grabbed his sister under her arms and tried to drag her. It worked. He dug his heels in and pulled until his teeth ached. Emily didn’t like being disturbed from her play and protested. She hadn’t seen the bull now charging with incredible speed, horns lowered.
With a final mighty effort the lad pulled the girl through the barn’s side door and slammed it shut just as the bull galloped by, shaking the earth.
God asks us to be big brother to the world. Satan attacks, and people aren’t aware of the danger. They need us, no matter how old, tall, educated, or frightened we may be. Become a hero to someone today.
