Playing in my backyard one day, I threw a ball over what I thought was a finished brick wall. When I tried to jump the wall, I caught my toe and landed flat on my back on gravel and stickers. I was in great pain.
Suddenly I felt a tremendous pressure turning my head to look at the sky. Just then a cement brick fell right on my forehead. It hurt! But if I hadn’t turned, I would have died. That brick would have landed on my temple, injuring my brain. Even though I ended up with a broken nose and wrenched back, I believe an angel was trying to protect me. So thank You, Lord!

When I was only four years old we went to my grandmother’s house for Mother’s Day. Before going to bed, I played with my racing-car set and had fun watching them zoom around the track.
At about 4:43 A.M. my dad smelled smoke but thought that it was the burned rubber on my racing car tires. Then he looked out the window and saw flames raging under the apartment building!
He quickly called the fire station and got everyone out of the apartment. By the time the firefighters got there, nearly the entire bottom section of the building was engulfed in fire. The good news is that they put out the fire and no one was really hurt. My grandmother lived on the bottom part of the building, but her apartment wasn’t burned down.
