Q: Why would God take someone important away from you when you really need them?
A: Has this happened to you recently? I’m so sorry. Losing someone you love is terrible. It makes you feel lonely and hurt deep inside.
But God didn’t take that person away from you. Satan did. Before sin entered our world, people did not know death or loneliness. There were only life, joy, and endless love.
Please make sure you place the blame for death where it belongs—squarely on Satan’s evil shoulders.
«God could’ve kept it from happening!» you say with a touch of anger in your voice. That’s true, and someday He will. He will erase Satan and sin completely from the universe. Until then, death will continue to be a part of life on this earth.
By the way, God knows how you feel. He watched as human beings nailed His own Son to a Roman cross. God heard Him cry out in pain, and He was there when Jesus took His last breath. Why didn’t He stop that horrible scene? Because He knew His Son’s death was necessary so you and your family could live again without pain.
You need to read a couple special texts: «I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you» (John 14:18). «For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones» (Isaiah 49:13).
You have three friends ready to help you through your sorrow. Jesus, who experienced death, and His loving Father, who watched it happen. Ask Them with the Holy Spirit to comfort you right now.
