If you think your body is just a collection of skin, bones, organs, and other gushy stuff, think again. «You should know that your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is in you» (1 Corinthians 6:19, ICB). Wow. This changes everything!
I talk to a lot of smart people on my radio programs. A favorite topic? Health! I’ve asked many of them what we can do to stay in tip-top shape so the Holy Spirit can do His tip-top work through us. This is what they told me.
Drink lots of water.Forget soda pop. (It has too much sugar.) Water serves as the foundation for every important, life-giving process in our bodies—from cell division to creating thoughts in our brains.So, drink up!
Eat your veggies. Whole plant foods (foods that haven’t had the nutrition processed out of them at some factory) provide pure energy and healing power to keep us—and the Holy Spirit—busy. Meat and other animal products can slow us down and make us sick. Choose plants every time.
Get your shut-eye.Sleep is a time for healing in our Holy Spirit temple. When we snooze, we rebuild what’s damaged and fight disease. We also energize ourselves for the important work ahead. Get eight hours of sleep each night and enjoy a Sabbath rest each week. 4. Run, jump, and keep moving. Exercise gets the blood flowing. Flowing blood takes oxygen and water to every Inch of our body, delivering nutrition and removing toxins.
So don’t just sit there. Drink, eat, sleep, mid move in ways that will keep your body temple healthy The Holy Spirit needs you!
