Fasten your seat belts! Here’s a couple misadventures from thankful juniors. Last winter we were in a rainstorm on our way to visit my aunt Sharon. My dad was driving my mom’s Volkswagen convertible. Suddenly Dad ran over a large puddle of water and, since we were moving about fifty-five miles per hour, the car did something that my dad calls «hydroplaning.» This means that our car started to float over the road on a layer of water.
Dad lost control, and we skidded to the middle of the road, then started spinning around. We went over the edge of the road and down into a ditch. Our car was facing backward when we stopped. We thank God that the car did not roll over or get damaged in any way.

One dark night my mom and I were on our way home from the truck stop where my mom parked her truck. When we got to an intersection, an old white station wagon driven by a drunk driver rammed into us. I was lying on the back seat with my head about two inches from the door. The car hit the door where my head was. If I’d been any closer, I’d be dead.
The Lord works in everyone’s life in different ways. I’m glad that God sent one of His angels to be with me. Someday I want to be one of His angels too.
