Houses and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord. Proverbs 19:14
The guy’s eyes sparkled with great vitality. His hands sweat nonstop and his fingers drummed on the old school desk. His racing heart was heard more distinctly than his scant words, which seemed to be trapped inside his mouth. It was just that a slender girl with shiny dark skin was in front of him, and a set of round dark brown captivating eyes were hidden under her long wavy hair, rimmed by two slim brows, a straight nose and a small mouth. To him, she seemed like a fairytale princess, a dream come true, an answer to prayer. So after thinking it over for several months, the daring suitor had decided to declare his love for his heart’s desire.
Of course, the guy looked for the best possible way to present his love proposal, trying to market himself as an unbeatable romantic full of advantages for a girl like her. Then, the girl lifted her face and looked him straight in the eye, to proceed to tell him more than clearly,
«The answer is no.»
The boy couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He had reasons to believe she was the girl of his dreams, that he would never find another one like her, that he couldn’t let that chance go by. So he charged again to only receive another negative answer. Seeing his battle was almost lost, the young man assured her that although she looked down on him, he would have eyes for no other woman and would faithfully love her in this life and the next. Then, to top it all off, he said these unbelievable words, «I’ll see you in heaven!»
Needless to say, that boy broke his solemn promise a few months after his failed attempt. He met another girl in less unrealistic circumstances, which allowed him to make a wiser decision with God’s help. In the end, he married her and was very happy.
To days verse assures us that the heavenly Father has someone for you. A partner for life is a gift from God to each of his beloved children. But many times, young people have surreal concepts about love that have nothing to do with what a genuine romantic relationship entails. Theas why it’s better to turn to the Lord when making that kind of decision.
Place your love life in God’s hands today. He won’t fail you.
