«He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.» JOHN 8:47, NKJV
During a recent filming trip, we were in northern California looking for a huge telescope array I had read about. Our plan was to film a few scenes there. I had never seen a telescope array, so I was eager to find this one. A telescope array is a place where there are a bunch of telescopes in an open area, pointing to space. The telescopes look like giant silver bowls on stands, and they’re usually pointing in the same direction. There are a couple of types of telescopes out there. There are the kinds that look into space and the kinds that listen into space. The array we were going to visit was radio telescopes, the kind that listen into space. Telescope arrays are always located very far away from anything, avoiding lights and sounds. Sure enough, this telescope array was way out in an isolated part of the state. When we arrived, we met up with the people who worked there, and soon after, we began filming our scenes. It was a fascinating place. There were forty-two of these huge radio antennas, and once in a while all the telescopes would start moving in exactly the same direction and speed. It looked like an army of dishes, and they appeared to be very obedient, moving together exactly as they were programed to move. They were all working together to listen deep into space.
The funny thing is that the most important thing in space we should be listening to is GOD! Our verse today says that those who listen for GOD will hear HIM. If you are not listening for GOD, you won’t hear HIM. Millions of dollars’ worth of telescopes will never hear GOD because they are not trying to listen to Him, but when we aim the telescopes of our heart to hear God’s will in our lives, we will hear and we will know.
Open your heart and your ears to GOD speaking to you today!
