For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. PSALM 139:13, 14, ESV
We once crossed the Strait of Gibraltar between Europe and Africa on a ferry on a day trip from Spain to Morocco—we’d be back in Spain by night. First thing we did was to visit some of the typical historic places, forts, and ancient buildings. There was never a shortage of locals trying to earn a few coins from us. At one of the places there was a snake charmer. If you thought that was only in the cartoons, think again. A man sat on the ground, cross-legged, with a basket in front of him. Soon the man started playing his flute, and a cobra rose up out of the basket. It seemed to be mesmerized by the music. At the end, the man gladly received coins for his performance.
Soon it was time for lunch, and we went to eat at a typical Moroccan restaurant. We sat on the floor on top of big fluffy pillows while serval brought delicious new foods to try. Our next stop was a store that bottled spices and herbs. We got to smell and taste a bunch of exotic flavors. Our final stop of the day was a carpet store. In North America, we use machines to make rugs and carpets, but in this Moroccan store, they made each one by hand. In the end, we bought a small carpet. If I ever have the privilege of having you as a guest in my home, I will show you the carpet, which is right by my front door.
If you think about it, you were handmade and designed by GOD. He knows everything about you. You were created with a purpose, and each one is special and unique. You are the only «you» GOD made on the whole planet; Which is why you are so valuable to GOD!
