“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” MATTHEW 24:14, NKJV
Before us were the great pyramids of Giza, just outside of Cairo, Egypt. Getting there had been an adventure, but now a new adventure waited. A man walked up to my friends and me, and with his broken English, asked us if we wanted to take a camel tour of the pyramids. This sounded like a very good idea. He prepared four camels for us and tied them all together in a long row with ropes between each camel. Soon we headed off into the desert. He said the best view of the pyramids was from behind and our plan was to go deep into the desert and come around and to see the pyramids from a high ridge. An hour later we hadn’t seen another living soul for some time, and we were happy to be getting the full desert-camel experience. Then at a distance we saw a man with a donkey coming toward us. Eventually this small, elderly man stopped and started talking to our guide. The guide pointed him to come back to talk to us, and he did, but we didn’t understand a single word. He was selling something, so he finally reached into a big bag tied onto the donkey and pulled out was he was selling. We were quite shocked to find him selling Coca-Cola products in the middle of the desert. We were more amazed that it was cold! It really made me appreciated how hard that company was working to take its products to every corner of the world.
As a Christians we also have something that we’re trying to take to every corner of the world: the good news about JESUS. That’s when it hit me that our message is much more important than Coca-Cola, yet I had to ask myself if I was working as hard as Coca-Cola to spread the news about JESUS. In order for this to work, we need to do our part to spread the word about JESUS.
Your part in this work is very important, will you share JESUS with someone today?
