So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us. ACTS 15:8, NKJV
After graduating from university, I didn’t have to start work for a couple of months, so I decided to go to Jordan and participate in a summer archeological dig. The place we would be digging had never been excavated before. Our team arrived, and the staff archeologists assigned the spots where we would be digging. They created “squares” that were about ten feet by ten feet, where we would dig each day. Our job was to carefully dig out the dirt in our square, being careful to look for anything out of the ordinary. Local teenagers were hired to spend the day helping us remove the dirt from our area. The dirt was placed into a container called a goofa, and our local helpers would take the container and dump the dirt on wire screen. They shook the screen until all the dirt passed through. This was to make sure we didn’t miss any important objects during the dig. The goofa boy assigned to our square was called Muhammed, and even though we couldn’t understand each other, during the course of the summer. We became friends. That’s kind of strange considering we never got to have a real conversation with each other. Once in a while when translator came by, he would translate a few comments between us, but most of the time we just joked around, smiled a lot, were kind to each other, and sat together during breaks and snack time.
The reason I’m sharing this story is that Mohammed was a devout Muslim Will Mohammed be saved? No one knows except GOD, because GOD is the only one who knows what is in the heart of every person. It is not our place to even try to guess if someone will be saved or not.
GOD knows what’s in my heart, just as He knows Muhammad’s heart. Our job is not to judge, it’s to be a witness to the world.
