Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If it is the Lords will, we will live and do this and that.” JAMES 4:14, 15, NIV
Driving through Cuba, we arrived at Holguin, a city on the eastern side of the island. Our host took us down a small street, and we stopped at the base of a large hill. Right in front of us was a huge staircase leading to the top of the hill where there was a lookout over the entire city and beyond, called the Hill of the Cross. Our host dropped us off to climb these famous stairs and told us that he would meet us at the top so we wouldn’t have to walk all the way down. Before leaving, he mentioned that there were 458 steps to get to the top! This seemed like a fun activity and a great way for our boys to spend some extra energy, so we started climbing.
As we were climbing up the stairs we encountered a man coming down the steps. This was no regular descent; he was coming down walking on his hands! He quietly passed us and continued toward the bottom. We were amazed and impressed, because simply walking on your hands seems hard to do. But he was climbing down the 458 steps on his hands! What we saw next shocked us. When he got to the bottom, without pausing a moment, he turned around and started climbing the steps, still on his hands! Before we made it to the top, he had passed us and was coming back down again!
The BIBLE talks about another strong man name Samson. Samson fell to temptation, which led to sin, but in the end, GOD still used Samson to do His will. Everyone is guilty of sin, but that doesn’t meant God doesn’t have a plan for us anymore; He does!
Ask GOD for forgiveness each day and how He wants you to accomplish His will.
