Be the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. 2 THESSALONIANS 3:3, NIV
Yellowstone National Park sits on a super volcano. As you can imagine, a super volcano is a very large volcano. The park sits in the caldera where the lava used to be. Once you enter the park you will see a variety of interesting animals including bison, bears, elk, wolves, and more. A geyser, like Old Faithful, happens when water from the surface drains deep below the surface and comes in contact with hot volcanic rocks. The water is super heated, and it comes blasting back up to the surface, where it is thrown high into the air for a short period of time.
As I approached the geyser area, I immediately notice something different. As I looked across the valley, I saw dozens of steam vents. That’s when I knew that not too far down below me there was a lot of volcanic activity going on. There were elevated wooded boardwalks that we were required to stay on, and they took me to the different geyser vents. Some geysers I could get really close to, while with others, the boardwalk makes sure you can’t get too close in order to keep visitors safe.
Soon a large crown formed at the most famous geyser, Old Faithful. Millions of people come each year to see this geyser erupt because it is so consistent. Most geysers are a little unpredictable; some only erupt once or twice a day or less. But old Faithful got its name because every hour or two it faithfully erupts.
God is also faithful, and he has given us many signs that He created us and that He can be trusted. Satan is anxious to make us fall, but God promises to strengthen and protect us if we trust in Him!
