And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who loved him, who have been called according to his purpose. ROMANS 8:28 NIV
A few years ago I was in the Pacific Northwest for a five-day filming shoot. We were on a very tight schedule and did not have much room for problems that could arise. On the last day of shoot, before we were fly home, the schedule called for us to drive to Tillamook, Oregon right on the Pacific Ocean in the northern part state. That day were needed to shoot at a sand dune riding around in dune buggy. As I prepared for the filming trip, I called a dune buggy rental place, and I asked about renting one for a couple of hours. They said there would be no problem at all, and because I was coming on a weekday during the low season, we wouldn’t even need a reservation.
We arrived, and the lady in the office was shocked and embarrassed to tell me that out nowhere a huge group arrived unannounced about an hour before me rented every single vehicle they had-for the entire day. She said in the past ten years, nothing like that had ever happened. I prayed with my crew, and I told them that we’d drive to the dunes anyway. A few minutes after we got there, a man drove up t the parking lot in a dune buggy. Something inside me told me to go over him and tell him about our filming situation. Right on the spot he offered to allow us to film our scenes with his buggy!
Unexpected things happen in life all the time. We try to make plants, but they don’t always work. Don’t be stressed out; instead, ask God to let His purpose be fulfilled in your life. In Tillamook, we were able to save time and money, plus we were able to witness to this man when we told him about our filming project. God’s plan is always better than ours. Remember to always listed for the Holy Spirit’s leading!
